Administrators Mini-conference Scheduled!!!

This year’s administrators mini-conference is titled, “Early Care Relationships: Relationships Matter, Staff, Families, & Children.” The conference will be available on two dates this year for your convenience: Friday, June 21st, Iowa County Health & Human Services Center in Dodgeville and Friday, October 4th, Borgen’s Cafe in Westby.

The conference will include 6.5 hours of Tier 2 Registry training. The large group presentation will be “Strengthening Families,” a strength-based approach to preventing child abuse and neglect and how early quality care environments can partner with all families using five protective factors (includes mandated reporter component). The afternoon will include a choice of 2 break-out sessions: “Family Involvement” and “Practicing Mindfulness: Finding Ways to Reduce Stress for Staff and Children.”

Lions, Tigers, and Bears…Oh My! Zoo Trip

We’re going to the zoo to explore and discover many different animals at the Henry Vilas Zoo in Madison, Wisconsin. Imagine the excitement as we explore our way through the zoo, have a picnic lunch, and play at the park. Admission is free and each family is responsible for their own picnic lunch. You can meet at Platteville School District’s Professional Learning Center (O.E. Gray Building), Lewis Street parking lot, to car pool up to Madison by 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 12th or you can meet us at the zoo’s main entrance at 10:30 a.m.

7th Annual “I’M BORED!” Boredom Buster Activities

Join us as we enjoy an evening of summertime fun with stations of activities and games. Hot dogs and homemade ice cream will be provided! Every family will leave with a bag of “boredom busters.” There will be games, door prizes, and tons of fun! Platteville Public Library will be available with information on library resources. Rain or shine!
